This COSHH Awareness course gives workers knowledge of the risks of hazardous substances. It also explains the control measures that must be in place so they can work safely.

Hazardous substances can cause allergic reactions, chemical burns, sickness from ingestion, fires, and explosions. These substance can also cause asthma and dermatitis, however, all are very preventable with proper planning and procedures.

The law requires employers to take reasonable steps to safeguard the health and safety of all employees. As part of this, employers should raise awareness of the risks of hazardous substances, and also outline how to minimise those risks.

The course duration is approximately 1-2 hours.

The importance of COSHH Awareness training

Every year, thousands of workers suffer from exposure to hazardous substances, contracting lung disease such as asthma, cancer and skin disease such as dermatitis. If your workplace uses potentially hazardous substances, then COSHH Awareness training is vital for keeping your team members safe. The regulations require you to consider the health effects that a substance might have, in the short-term and also in the long-term.

COSHH training courses help learners to understand hazardous substance regulations, and how to correctly apply them in their role.

Who needs COSHH Awareness training?

This COSHH Awareness online training course is for anyone who may come into contact with a substance hazardous to health within the workplace. Regulation 12 of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002 states that every employer who undertakes work which is liable to expose an employee to a substance hazardous to health, shall provide that employee with suitable and sufficient information, instruction and training.

Our COSHH training is ideal for people with responsibility for using, handling, storing or transporting hazardous substances. This includes people who work in cleaning, healthcare, manufacturing, transport, utilities and office environments.
