This COSHH Awareness online training course is designed to give workers knowledge of the risks of hazardous substances and the control measures needed to ensure that they understand how to work safely.

Employers are required by law to take reasonable steps to safeguard the health and safety of all employees.  This includes raising awareness about the risks related to hazardous substances, and outlining what can be done to minimise those risks.

Who is it for?

This COSHH Awareness online training course is for anyone who may come into contact with a substance hazardous to health within the workplace. Regulation 12 of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002 states that every employer who undertakes work which is liable to expose an employee to a substance hazardous to health, shall provide that employee with suitable and sufficient information, instruction and training.

Monitoring exposure and health surveillance

  • The difference between personal air monitoring and biological monitoring.
  • The role of Workplace Exposure Limits’ (WELs) and Biological Monitoring Guidance Values (BMGVs).
  • What a health survey involves and when it is required.


The assessment is generated from question banks so that the questions change each time a candidate takes the assessment – making the training suitable for initial and refresher training.

There is no limit on the number of attempts at the assessment and informative feedback is given so candidates can learn from their incorrect responses.
